Drum Tower Beijing

Drum Tower BeijingDrum Tower Beijing is located close to the Bell Tower Beijing. The Drum Tower Beijing originally built for musical reasons, it was later used to indicate the time of day and is now one of Beijing tourist attraction. Drum Tower Beijing was the center of Chinese chronology during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.

Drum Tower Beijing was grounded on a 4-meter-high stone and brick base. Its height is 46.7 meters. In 1957, the Drum Tower Beijing was listed as city grade protect unit and it was repaired in 1984. Drum Tower Beijing was opened in 1987 for the tourists. Drum Tower Beijing’s second floor contains the exhibition area, there originally were 25 drums. Among them, there were one large drum and 24 smaller drums. The Drum Tower Beijing open at 9 o’clock am and end at half four pm every day. The price of entrance ticket is only 10 RMB. If you visit Drum Tower Beijing, the visitors will be able to go climb up and enjoys the view, they can also take part in knocking the drum activity. The both sides of the Beijing Drum Tower were crowded with merchants and people. In the lane, there are many courtyards of  influential official and simple but elegant houses of ordinary people.

The shops stand shoulder to shoulder and attract many tourist. The lively scenery irradiates elegant demeanour of the old city.
